Nepal to host AFC Challenge Cup Qualifiers Group 'D' matches
Nepal has been appointed to host the AFC Challenge Cup qualifiers Group D matches scheduled for next year.
Nepal are drawn under Group D along with Palestine, Bangladesh and Northern Mariana Island as per the draw held at AFC headquarter in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on Tuesday.
Similarly, Myanmar, India, Chinese Taipei and Guan are in Group A; Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Pakistan and Macau are in Group B; Laos, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka and Mongolia are in Group C; and Philippines, Turkmenistan, Cambodia and Brunei are drawn in Group E.
The matches will be played on March 2, 4 and 6 with the exception of Group B where the games will be played on March 17, 19 and 21 next year.
The four group winners and two best second-placed teams will join host nation the Maldives at the 2014 AFC Challenge Cup finals, according to AFC.
The AFC Competitions Committee on November 28 had decided to give the hosting rights of the 2014 AFC Challenge Cup to Maldives. Maldives don’t have to play the qualifiers as it is the host tournament. nepalnews.com
