Police in civvies catch 403 drivers flouting traffic rules

Police personnel in plainclothes caught 403 drivers flouting traffic rules in the Capital on Tuesday, the day Metro traffic police office started deploying them to keep an eye on rule violators.

Metro traffic police said the personnel in civilian dress were stationed across busy intersections in the city. A total of 403 rule violators in Singha Durbar area, Kalimati, Baneshwor, Durbar Marg and Hattisar have been punished on day one, the office added.

Traffic police Inspector Sitaram Hachhethu said traffic police personnel in plain clothes make note of the registration number of the vehicles breaking traffic rules and report it to in-uniform personnel, who then take action against them. nepalnews.com
