The meeting held at Prime Minister’s residence in Baluwatar on Thursday morning concluded that if other parties are not ready to accept Bhattarai as PM, then his alternative should be sought from within the ruling alliance.

Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai, UCPN (M) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal and leaders of UDMF were present at the meeting held to pave the way for a new unity government.

At the meeting, Dahal clarified that he has tried to forge consensus among the parties as per the decision of the Maoist party and the ruling coalition.

Coalition Spokesperson Prem Bahadur Singh said, "The alliance has reiterated that the incumbent government should be transformed into one of national consensus. Am alternative candidate, if required, should be chosen from the ruling alliance itself."

UCPN (Maoist) Spokesperson Agni Sapkora said that the ruling coalition will meet again on Saturday. nepalnews.com
