UCPN (M) not divided over unity govt issue: PM

Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai has said that he has no differene of opinion with UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal over the formation of a government of national consensus.

Talking to mediapersons at his official residence in Baluwatar, Bhattarai said he was ready to put in his papers if political parties reach a deal on holding Constituent Assembly elections in Baisakh (April-May).

The development comes as local media reported that Maoist chief Pushpa Kamal Dahal told opposition parties that although his party was willing to accept Sushil Koirala as Prime Minister, Baburam Bhattarai has objected to the decision.

Bhattarai on Wednesday had snubbed a crucial meeting of UCPN(M) office bearers, fueling suspicions that the party top brass has a difference of opinion regarding the formation of government of national consensus. nepalnews.com
