APF defend One-Day Nat’l Cricket title
Armed Police Force (APF) defeated Region No. 4 (Bhairahawa) to lift the title of the Pepsi Standard Chartered One-Day National Cricket Tournament on Friday.

APF won the match by six wickets against Bhairahawa in the final match.
Electing to bat first, Bhairahawa scored 221 runs with the loss of all their wickets in 10 overs. Fajlur Rahman Khan scored 124 runs for Bhairahawa while Sharad Vesawkar took three wickets for APF.
In reply, APF chased the target in 34.1 over scoring total 227 runs with the loss of four wickets as Paras Khadka scored 86 runs, Subash Khakurel 60 runs, Vesawka 29 runs, Paresh Lohani 25 runs and Gyanendra Malla 23 runs.
Amit Shrestha of Region No. 2 (Birgunj) was declared best batsman while Basant Regmi of APF won best bowler. Similarly, Sagar Pun and Fazlur Rehman Khan of Bhairahawa were declared player of the series and emerging player of the tournament respectively.
The winning team bagged Rs. 150,000 along with the trophy while runner-up received Rs. 100,000 and trophy.
Similarly, player of the series received Rs. 20,000 while best batsman and best bowler bagged Rs. 15,000 each.
APF had also lifted the title last year while Nepal Police Club were the runner-up. nepalnews.com
