US Senate confirms Peter Bodde as ambassador to Nepal
The Senate of the United States has confirmed Peter Bodde as the new ambassador to Nepal. President Barack Obama had named him as ambassador to Nepal in March this year.

The Senate's confirmation on Bodde's posting to Nepal came three days after his predecessor Scott H. DeLisi left Kathmandu to assume as his duty as ambassador to Uganda. Along with Bodde, the Senate on Friday also confirmed the appointment of ten other ambassadors nominated by President Obama.
Bodde, who joined the US Foreign Service in 1981, had served in Kathmandu twice. He was deputy chief of mission from 1994 to 1997 andas attache´ from 1982 to 1984 in Kathmandu. He speaks fluent Nepali.
Among other assignments, Bodde served as Minister Counselor for Administrative Affairs in a number of countries including India and as Consul General in Frankfurt, Germany from September 2002 to February 2006. nepalnews.com
