Info minister expelled from party as another Madhesi party on verge of split

A meeting of the ruling Madhesi Janadhikar Forum-(Ganatantrik) expelled Raj Kishor Yadav from the party. Yadav, who is also Minister for Information and Communications in the incumbent government, was shouldering the responsibility of acting chairman of the party after its chairman JP Gupta was jailed on corruption charge.

Based on the decision of the majority of party's Central Committee members, Ganatantrik’s CC on Sunday expelled Yadav from the party.

With the sudden expulsion of Yadav, MJF-G has become another Madhes-based party that has reached the verge of split.

MJF-G's senior leader Raj Lal Yadav said that the party expelled Raj Kishor Yadav after concluding that he acted against the party's interests.

He was also accused of not showing any interest in calling the CC meeting of the party despite repeated requests from the party leaders after he became the acting chairman of the party.

Now co-chairman Nandan Kumar Gupta has replaced Raj Kishor Yadav to the post of acting chairman of the party.

A majority of CC members including Nandan Kumar Gupta has already informed the Election Commission of the expulsion of acting chairman Yadav from the post. nepalnews.com
