Former Mayor takes own life

Former Mayor of Jaleswor Municipality, Balkrishna Dhakal, committed suicide by consuming poison on Sunday night.

According to the District Police Office, Mahottari, Dhakal, who was elected as Mayor of Jaleswor Municipality from the CPN-UML in the local elections held in 2054-55 BS, breathed his last while receiving treatment at Zonal Hospital, Janakpur.

Initial police investigation show that Dhakal took his own life over a family dispute.
