World Population Day being observed
With the main slogan of ´Universal Access to Reproductive Health Services', the World Population Day-2012 is being marked around the world, including Nepal, on Wednesday.

The United Nations has been marking July 11 as the World Population Day since 1989 to draw the world's attention towards controlling high population growth rate after the world's population reached 5 billion.
The Ministry of Health and Population is organising various programmes including interactions, talk programmes, seminars and others in the capital to mark the day.
According to United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), ´Universal access to reproductive health´ is also one of the goals of the Millennium Development Goals.
It is expected that the world population will be 10 billion by 2050. nepalnews.com
