Temporary TU teachers to shut down University for two days

Nepal Professors Association has announced two-day shut down in Tribhuvan University accusing the government of turning a deaf ear to its demands including pay hike.

The Association said they it would enforce university shut down on Thursday and Friday bringing academic and administrative activities to a halt.

Organising a press conference on Wednesday, Association said shut down was announced to exert pressure on the government to fulfill professors' 'genuine' demands.

Association has put forth 22-point demands including pay hike, uniform allowances and permanent status to all the temporary TU teachers, among other.

Earlier today, Association representatives met with Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai at the UCPN (Maoist) headquarters in Perisdanda and drew his attention towards their demands. Nepalnews.com
