Former CA members intensify campaign for reinstatement
Former Constituent Assembly (CA) members from different parties have started hectic lobbying for reinstatement of the CA.
They met Nepali Congress president Sushil Koirala Friday morning and urged him to agree on reinstatement of the CA. They argued that this is the best option in the present circumstances with no possibility of fresh CA elections in the wake of differences between the parties and no there is other method to issue the constitution other than the CA.
Koirala on his part assured that the proposal would be discussed in the upcoming meetings of the major parties.
Former CA members from the NC, UCPN (Maoist), UML and a few other parties were present in the meeting with the NC president.
They are also set to meet UCPN (M) Maoist chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, UML chairman Jhala Nath Khanal.
The campaign of the ex CA members coincides with UCPN (M) initiation for CA reinstatement. Dahal even met the leaders of the breakaway CPN-Maoist on Wednesday and asked for their nod to revive the CA for a brief period in order to promulgate the constitution. nepalnews.com
