MJF-D district leader joins Nepali Congress; saying 90 pc of district leaders want to 'come back'

Nawalparasi District Chairperson of Madhesi Janaadhikar Forum-Democratic, Sanjaya Yadav, has quitted his party and joined the Nepali Congress (NC) on Tuesday, RSS reports.

He declared to join the NC by organizing a press conference at a time when the NC, Nawalparasi was holding meeting at Kawaswoti. At the press conference held on the presence of NC, Nawalparasi District President Devendra Raj Kandel, Yadav said that he returned to the Congress as per the policy of bringing back previous cadres to the party in a diginified manner.

Yadav, who contested the Constituent Assembly (CA) elections from as NC candidate in Nawalparasi, constituency-4, became MJF-D Nawalparasi Chairperson after the party took action against him in 2066 BS. He also claimed that 90 per cent of leaders in the 26 district committee of the MJF-D would come back to the Nepali Congress.

He further said that he relinquished the MJF-D as it was not rational to stay in the party who only advocates for Madhesi issues. 'I joined Congress as it is in the forefront of raising national issues', he added. nepalnews.com
