President Dr Ram Baran Yadav Saturday urged the major political forces and the government to go ahead with consensus to strengthen democracy in the country.

Inaugurating a newly constructed building of Korea Nepal Institute of Technology in Butwal on Saturday, President Yadav urged the UCPN (Maoist), Nepali Congress, CPN-UML and Madhesi Front to forge consensus to end the political impasse of the country.

He also suggested Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai to take other political parties into confidence.

The President also said that all parties were equally responsible for the dissolution of the Constituent Assembly (CA) without promulgating the new constitution.

"Government and political parties are responsible for the failure to give new constitution to the nation, I also regret for not being able to play my role as a guardian," he added. nepalnews.com
