PM Bhattarai congratulates newly elected Indian Prez
Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai congratulated newly elected Indian President Pranab Mukherjee on Monday, expressing his belief that Nepal-India relations would be further consolidated during Mukherjee's tenure.

PM Bhattarai made a telephone call to Mukherjee in the morning and mentioned that Nepal's political parties and the people were happy for his election to the President of India.

Thanking for the congratulatory remarks, President Mukherjee described himself as a good friend of Nepal and Nepalis, a press note issued by Bhattarai's secretariat said. "He [Mukherjee] said the bilateral ties will be further strengthened."
Mukherjee was elected as the 13th Indian President on Sunday, defeating P.A Sangma, the candidate of the opposition National Democratic Alliance. nepalnews.com
