The Nepal Federation of Indigenous Nationalities (NEFIN) chairman Raj Kumar Lekhi Tuesday said that the indigenous leaders were preparing to announce new party on August 9.

Speaking at a programme in Chitwan, Lekhi said that the preparation to form new party was in the final stage.

"There is no alternative to establish new party after major political parties including UCPN (Maoist), Nepali Congress and UML stood against the ethnic rights," he added, "We will announce new party on the occasion of International Day of the World's Indigenous People on August 9."

Lekhi also blamed the major political parties for the failure of the Constituent Assembly to promulgate new constitution. nepalnews.com
