Senior Journalist Jha no more

Senior Journalist Chandra Lal Jha passed away on Friday morning. He was 74.

Jha, who was suffering from Parkinson´s disease for long, died at his residence at Maruhiti-Ganeshthan in Kathmandu.

Jha was undergoing treatment at Tripureshwor-based Kathmandu Hospital and had been taken to the residence on Thursday.

He was born in 1995 BS and had started career in journalism from Nepali Times from 2015 BS. Jha was also honoured with National Journalism Award, established by the Government of Nepal, according to state-owned news agency RSS.

Jha, who contributed for the development of Nepali journalism, had written courageously against the then Panchayat regime.

He was arrested for 18 times on different charges during the Panchayat regime and served seven year´s jail sentence.

Jha is survived by wife, three sons and two daughters. nepalnews.com
