NEPSE loses 3.20 pts
Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index has plunged by 3.20 points to settle at 401.55 points during the five trading days from Sunday to Thursday last week.
The NEPSE index had gained 5.73 points on the first week of this current fiscal year.
The market had opened with 404.75 points on Sunday and gained 3.61 points on Monday while the index witnessed slight downward trend in the rest of the trading days.
As per the sub-indices of all the groups, except development bank which was positive by 1.36 points all the groups witnessed negative gain including commercial bank 3.75 points, manufacturing 4.41 points, others 5 .78 points , hydropower 4.38 points, insurance 2.91 points and finance 1.11 points.
However, hotel and trading groups remained unchanged over the week.
The stock market traded with 113 companies registering the turnover of Rs.467 million through 7505 transactions while it had traded with 126 companies registering the turnover of Rs. 369.91 million through 5784 transactions in the previous week.
Of the total transaction, Group A companies alone contributed Rs. 346.2 million which is 75.15 percent of the total turnover.
Everest Bank (Rs. 92 million), Chilime Hydropower Company (Rs. 55.24 million), Bank of Kathmandu (Rs. 38.34 million), Kist Bank (Rs. 37.36 million) and Nabil Bank (Rs. 22.77 million) were the top five companies to witness the highest transactions over the week. nepalnews.com
