Justice Bam’s body kept at SC premises for final tribute
The body of the Supreme Court (SC) Justice Rana Bahadur Bam was kept in the SC premises from 8 to 11am today for well-wishers and general public to pay their final tribute.
The plenary meeting of the SC on Thursday extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members of late Bam and decided to keep his body at the SC premises for final tribute.
President Ram Baran Yadav, Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai, ministers and political leaders paid last respects to Bam at the SC premises.
His final rites are to be performed at Aryaghat with full state honour today.
Meanwhile, various organisations have expressed grief over the murder of SC Justice Bam.
Issuing separate press releases, the Civil Servants' Association, Nepal Bar Association, Nepal Democratic Lawyers' Association, Nepal Civil Servant's Union, Appellate Court Bar Association, Patan, condemned the fatal attack on Justice Bam and described it as an attack on entire judiciary.
They wished for eternal peace to the departed soul, extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members and demanded the government to immediately book those involved in the murder of the SC Justice and take strong action against them. nepalnews.com
