Govt provides additional security to judges
The Home Ministry has provided additional security to judges at all levels of in Kathmandu Valley following the broad daylight murder of Supreme Court judge Rana Bahadur Bam on Thursday.
According to the Office of the Metropolitan Police Commissioner, judges of district courts, appellate and Supreme Court have been provided with one extra security person and security vigil has been stepped up in travel routes and around their residences.
The judges who have perceived security threats have been provided with even more security, officials said. Before deciding to provide extra security, senior police officials met Supreme Court judges on Thursday to assess the security threats.
