Broader Madhesi Front (BMF) led by Madhesi Janadhikar Forum-Nepal chairman Upendra Yadav has urged President Ram Baran Yadav to seek ways to relieve Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai of his duty.

Organising a press conference in Kathmandu on Saturday, the cross-party alliance of Madhesi lawmakers in the dissolved Constituent Assembly, urged the President to take initiative to form new government based on broad consensus.

"If the PM does not give up his status, he should be removed through alternative ways to pave the way for formation of next government," BMF leader Upendra Yadav said.

Yadav also said that political uncertainty would not end in the country as long as the caretaker government existed.

"As a guardian of the Interim Constitution and the head of the state, he should give an outlet to the present political mess,” he added.

Meanwhile, today’s meeting of the BMF decided to suspend Ram Rijhan Yadav, the PM’s press adviser and two other Maoist leaders - Prabhu Sah and Ram Kumar Sharma - from the alliance "for violating discipline by supporting the government’s decision to hold fresh election of the CA on 22 November". nepalnews.com
