Lightning claims 11 lives in one month

Lightning that struck houses at Mahadevsthan VDC-5 in Dhading district took lives of two persons and injured two others seriously Friday night.

The deceased have been identified as Som Lama, 16, of Bidur Municipality, Nuwakot, and local Santosh Lamichhane Magar, 28. Tikamaya Lamichhane Magar and Dhan Bahadur Tamang, who were seriously injured in the incident, are currently receiving medical treatment at local health center.

At least 30 houses were damaged by the lightning, according to locals.

With this, the number of lightning-related deaths has reached 11 across the country in the past one month, according to Nepalnews count. nepalnews.com
