Addressing a programme jointly organised by different employees unions of the judiciary on Friday, CJ Regmi said the failure to arrest the murderers of justice Bam is a matter of worry. An atmosphere in which the judges have to fear for their lives must be ended to uphold the independence of judiciary, he further said.

"The concerned authorities must show sensitiveness to make effective the investigation process," said he.

Justice Bam, who was shot by unidentified assailants at Sankhamul in the broad daylight on May 31, succumbed to injuries at Norvic Hospital, Thapathali, on the same day. He had received five bullets.

His friend Ram Giri and bodyguard ASI Mahesh Giri were also shot at and are still undergoing treatment at Norvic. nepalnews.com
