UCPN (M) establishment still wants unity as Baidya floats name for new party in national gathering

At a time when UCPN (Maoist) establishment faction is requesting rival faction led by vice chairman Mohan Baidya to sit for negotiation to keep party unity intact, Baidya has proposed name for the new party in national gathering of the state committee-level cadres taking place in the capital.

Presenting a political report, vice chairman Baidya has proposed the name for the new party as UCPN Maoist (Revolutionary) among the leaders. His report includes analysis of national and international secenario, weaknesses of the party and future strategy among other.

According to leader Pampha Bhusal, 21 groups of the leaders will discuss on the report presented by Baidya.

Meanwhile, a meeting of standing committee leaders close to the establishment faction held on Sunday morning stressed on the need for keeping party unity intact. The meeting, held at party chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal's residence in Lazimpat also urged Baidya faction to continue discussions by passing proposal on party unity through its national gathering, said party spokesperson Dina Nath Sharma, emerging from the meeting.

Responding to party establishment faction's seven point proposal on party unity, dissenting faction had sought written self-criticism from the rival faction for its mistakes, errors and the weaknesses and also asked it to express commitment not to repeat such mistakes in the days to come.
