Mithila Cultural Museum opens in Janakpur
Mithila Cultural Museum located in Janakpurdham has been opened for public from Sunday. The museum has ancient ornaments, artistic crown and artistic costumes of the civilisation, culture and lifestyle of the Janaki era, according to RSS.
Indian ambassador to Nepal Jayant Prasad had inaugurated the museum some seven months ago although the foundation was laid by another ambassador Shiv Shankar Mukherjee five years ago.
Ancient and artistic items of some 10,000 years ago related to Sita of Treta age are kept in the exhibition in the museum.
The museum is at the premises of the Janaki Temple and was constructed at a cost of Rs 23.1 million. nepalnews.com
