Machchhindranath's Bhoto (vest) was displayed in the presence of President Ram Baran Yadav, senior ministers, top security and government officials and dignitaries at around 5:00 pm as there is no exact auspicious time for the event.

Machchhindranath is known as the deity of rain and good harvest.

The display of Bhoto officially concluded the month-long procession of Rato Machhindranath chariot that was taken through various streets of ancient town of Patan by groups of devotees.

Both Hindu and Buddhist people of Newar community celebrate the Machhindranath Chariot pulling fair, which is known as the longest fair in Kathmandu valley.

The chariot will now taken to Bungmati of Lalitpur where the temple of Machhindranath is situated.

The government has announced public holiday on Sunday for the Machchhindranath Bhoto Jatra. Nepalnews.com
