Number of Nepalis going for overseas job increases by 13 pc
The departure of Nepali job-seekers going to foreign shores has increased by 12.94 percent during the first 11 months of the current fiscal year.
The number has increased to 349,943 during the period while there were only about 309,828 who left for overseas jobs during the same period last year, according to the Department of Foreign Employment.
Of the total Nepali workers who left for foreign employment, 20,971 were female. Similarly, 233554 Nepalis left the country through outsourcing agencies and 116,389 from their own personal contacts.
Qatar, Saudi Arab, Malaysia, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and Kuwait were the top major destination for Nepali workers during the period.
Qatar hired 98821 Nepalis, Saudi Arab 72262, Malaysia 84351, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) 51509, and Kuwait 23062 during the period. nepalnews.com
