Athletes leaving for England for Olympic training

A Nepali Olympic delegation is leaving for Kent, England, on Tuesday for the training of upcoming London 2012 Olympic Games scheduled to start from July 24 to August 12, 2012.

The six-member team comprises athletes Tilaram Tharu and Pramila Rijal, swimmers Prasidha Jung Shah and Shreya Dhital along with athletics coach Tika Sedain and swimming coach Ongden Lama.

Similarly, shooting player Sneha Rana was also confirmed to participate in the Olympics through wild card last week. However, it is learnt that Rana’s training will be held here in Nepal.

National Sports Council (NSC) and Nepal Olympic Committee (NOC) organised separate farewell programmes to the players on Monday. nepalnews.com
