Load-shedding further slashed by one hour

The Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has slashed the load-shedding by one hour, limiting the daily power cut to five hours effective from Tuesday.

As per the new schedule released by the NEA, load-shedding hours have been reduced to hours 35 from the previous 42 hours a week.

The NEA reduced the load-shedding after increased water level in the rivers thereby generating more electricity from the power plants that were far below their capacity.

Though the demand of the country is 960 MW, NEA has been able to allocate only 590 MW, comprising domestic production and imports from India. nepalnews.com
