PM Bhattarai tells World Bank VP Nepal’s economic situation is ‘very good’; requests increased support
Visiting Vice-president of the World Bank (WB), Axeavon Trotsenberg, called on Prime Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai on Tuesday.
During the meeting held at the Prime Minister’s Office, Singha Durbar, Prime Minister Bhattarai expressed happiness over WB’s continued support in different sectors of the country and said that the economic situation of the country was “very good”.
PM Bhattarai also urged the World Bank to increase its support to Nepal, especially in the country’s priority sectors such as energy, tourism, agriculture and infrastructure developments.
On the occasion, Trotsenberg congratulated Nepal for maintaining sound economic growth and said that Nepal was in a good position in WB’s country wise assessment. He also expressed WB’s willingness to increase assistance and support to Nepal. nepalnews.com
