Police identify nine people killed in Doti bus crash
Police have identified nine of the 11 people who were killed when a passenger mini bus skidded off and fell about 200 meters down the road at Rubaskada of Chhatiban VDC-9 in Doti district Tuesday morning.
The nine victims of Tuesday's mini bus accident are Pratap Bista of Aalital in Dadeldhura; Janakidevi Joshi of Bhageshwor, Dadeldhura; Dhiraj Pant of Silanga, Baitadi; Jagannath Bohora of Malladehi, Baitadi; Indian national Fida Hussein; Kailashdutt Joshi of Jogbuda, Dadeldhura; Chandra Bahadur BK of Ghanteshwor; Dan Bahadur Airi of Chipur, Dadeldhura and Chandradevi Pandyaya of Rupal, Dadeldhura. The identities of the two other victims were yet to be ascertained.
The mini bus was headed for Mahendranagar from Dadeldhura when it suddenly lost control while negotiating a difficult turn in the hilly road and veered off the road at about 8:30 am. The driver fled the scene after the accident.
Among the six injured, the condition of two girls from Chipur in Dadeldhura – Kabita Mahata and Rojina Mahat – is said to be critical and are currently receiving treatment at a hospital in Dhangadi. nepalnews.com
