Govt in talks with parties for consensus budget, says Pun

Pun said he has been holding discussions with leaders of various political parties to arrive at a consensus for timely introduction of the budget.
Speaking during a programme organised by Nepalese Association of Financial Journalists (NAFIJ) in the capital, FM Pun said government would bring out full-fledged budget through ordinance on the basis of political consensus.
He said the budget will give priority to industrial production, employment generation, social security, agriculture, tourism and physical infrastructures development. "It will also focus on creating favourable environment for investment," said he.
Similarly, UML leader and former Finance Minister Surendra Pandey said that the budget without political consensus is not favourable as questions will be raised on its implementation.
Likewise, economist Bishwombher Pyakurel said the new budget should be introduced after forging political consensus. nepalnews.com |
