Fire guts property worth Rs 20 m in Sunsari

Loss worth around Rs. 20 million occurred in a fire that broke out at Ramnagar Bhutaha VDC, Sunsari in the southern bordering area since 10.30 on Monday night.

The inferno that spread across the Musalman tole in Bhutaha-7 turned more than 60 houses into ashes, Armed Police Force (APF) Inspector Dhirendra Chand told RSS.

The fire that broke out from the shed of Falahi Ansari gutted the entire tole, informed Inspector Chand, adding that no human casualty took place in the incident.

It is said that house buildings and sheds, clothes, food grains, valuable jewelries, utensils of 19 households were destroyed in the incident.

The fire also killed six castrated goats, one buffalo and one goat, it is learnt.

A huge loss has been incurred in the fire that destroyed the entire Musalman tole and collection of details on loss is being held, said Nepali Congress (NC), Sunsari President Rajib Koirala, who reached the fire site.

Locals of the tole have been rendered homeless after fire gutted entire houses and sheds, said Koirala.

The fire was taken under control at 7.00 am today with the help of fire engines from Itahari, Dharan and Biratnagar. Locals, Armed Police Force and Nepal Police personnel took initiative to douse the fire. nepalnews.com
