UML not to join Bhattarai govt

The CPN-UML has decided not to join the coalition government led by Prime Minister Baburam Bhataarai. Responding to the UCPN (Maoist) plea to join the government, the UML said existing government can not be changed into unity government as it was formed on the basis of majority vote.

The Standing Committee meeting of the UML held at the Constituent Assembly (CA) building in New Baneshwor this afternoon took the decision to this effect.

UML leader KP Oli said the coalition government was formed as per the article 38 (2) of the Interim Constitution based on the majority voting system and his party would not join the government.

The UML has also sought the resignation of PM Baburam Bhattarai to pave the way for the formation of the national unity government. nepalnews.com
