Nepal starts with a victory in ACC U-16 Elite Cup; beats Kuwait by 78 runs
Nepal defeated Kuwait by a huge margin of 78 runs in the first match of the ACC U-16 Elite Cup played at the Bayuemas Oval Cricket Ground in Kualalumpur, Malaysia on Friday.
Electing to bat first, Nepal posted a target of 180 runs losing all wickets in 32.4 overs of the total 40 overs match.
While chasing the target, Kuwait were restricted to 101 runs in 32.4 overs as Nepal’s Kalicharan Yadav alone grabbed four-wickets and was also declared man of the match later. Nurdhoj Sen contributed 47 runs while Kushal Bhurtel scored 35 runs for Nepal.
Now, Nepal will take on Bahrain on Sunday in their second match from Group ‘B’ of the tournament.
Nepal is placed in Group ‘B’ alongside Malaysia, Bahrain, Kuwait and Iran while Group ‘A’ comprises Singapore, Hong Kong, Oman and Thailand. nepalnews.com
