Parties resume debate on constitution
A top level meeting of UCPN (Maoist), Nepali Congress, UML and Madhesi Front Saturday afternoon could not reach any closer to an understanding on state restructuring, the most contentious issue related to constitution drafting.
The meeting held at the secretariat of the Army Integration Special Committee (AISC) in Naya Baneshwor dwelt mainly on the federal model and form of governance.
According to UML leader Surendra Panday, the leaders agreed to adopt a mixed form of governance but parties' position on the state restructuring still remained unchanged.
The major four parties have agreed to settle the disputed issues of the constitution by three days in the five-point agreement they singed Thursday night. nepalnews.com
