PAC puts pressure on govt to expedite construction of East-West railway
The Public Accountant Committee (PAC) of the legislature parliament has directed the government to expedite its preparations to start the works on the construction of the East-West railway.
During a meeting held at Singha Durbar on Monday, the PAC also asked the government to ensure proper compensation to people who will be displaced or affected by the railway-line.
On the occasion, Minister for Physical Planning and Works Hridayesh Tripathi acquainted the House Committee that the lack of timely and “sensible” budget for the compensation meant for people who will be affected by the construction of railway-line has been causing delay in the works of the railway.
The CA members who were present in the meeting have also urged the government to provide appropriate budget to start the works on the project on time. nepalnews.com
