Nepal stun Malaysia to top Group ‘B’ in ACC U-16 Elite Cup

Nepal secured fourth consecutive victory after defeating Malaysia by one wicket in the last league match of the ACC U-16 Elite Cup played at Kinrara Oval Cricket Ground in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on Wednesday.

Nepal met the target of 140 runs in 38.5 overs losing nine wickets as Aakash Bista contributed highest of 55 runs. Bista also declared man of the match in the today’s match.

Electing to bat first, Malaysia scored 139 runs in 37.1 overs losing all their wickets.

While chasing the target, Nepal lost their nine wickets before reaching to century. However, Nepal’s last wicket partnership remained unbeaten to meet the target.

With the win, Nepal have topped the Group ‘B’ accumulating 8 points from the played four matches while Malaysia remained at second spot with 6 points.

Nepal and Malaysia had both advanced for the semi-final of the tournament.
