Dahal rules out CA term extension; says constitution will be ready within May 27
Maoist chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal Monday ruled out the possibility of another extension of the tenure of the Constituent Assembly (CA) as a way of buying to time for constitution drafting.

Briefly speaking to media persons after the meeting of the dispute resolution sub-committee in Singha Durbar, Dahal said, "The CA term is not going to be extended. Constitution will be promulgated within May 27."
Alluding to the ongoing protests for and against ethnicity-based federalism, Dahal said the parties were trying to tackle with the fresh developments and that they were not to putting the constitution-drafting procedures on the backburner.
Meanwhile, Nepali Congress parliamentary party leader and member of the sub-committee Ram Chandra Poudel also said there was no possibility of extension of CA's term.
Saying that the Supreme Court verdict had ended the possibility of the CA's deadline, Poudel claimed that a full-fledged constitution would be promulgated by May 27. nepalnews.com
