Army School lift Army Staff Running Cricket Tournament

Defending champion Army School (Sainik Awasiya Mahavidhyalaya) lifted the title of 5th Chief of Army Staff Running Cricket Tournament, defeating Rajan Memorial International School by 98 runs in the final match played on Monday.

Opting to bat first, Army School scored 171 runs losing four wickets in 20 overs as Aayush Shrestha Thapa scored 64 runs, Kiran Shrestha 54 runs, Gunjan Yadav 20 runs and Najik Bikram Rana 14 runs for Army played at Army School, Bhaktapur.

While chasing the target, Rajan Memorial were restricted to 72 runs in 13.5 overs. Gunjan Yadav grabbed five wickets while Kiran Shrestha took four wickets and Aayush Jung Thapa took two wickets.

With the win, Army School bagged Rs. 20,000 while Rajan Memorial received Rs. 10,000 as a runner up. Army School has won the tournament fourth times in a row.

Chief Guest - Chief of the Army Staff, General Chattraman Singh Gurung handed over the trophies and the prize money to the winning teams. nepalnews.com
