President calls 11th House session on Thursday

President Dr. Ram Baran Yadav has summoned the 11th session of the legislature-parliament on Thursday.

The President summoned the House at 4 pm on May 17 on the recommendation of Prime Minister Dr. Baburam Bhattarai as per the Article 51 (1) of the Interim Constitution, said the Office of the President in a statement issued Tuesday evening.

Earlier, PM Bhattarai had visited President Yadav at Shital Niwas and recommended that the House be called on the aforementioned date.

The House has been summoned for amending the Interim Constitution in order to shorten the constitution-drafting process.

Parties had admitted that promulgation of the new constitution would not be possible without cutting short the procedures. nepalnews.com
