Govt failing to meet target of capital expenditure
Finance Minster Barsha Man Pun has directed the concerned authorities to meet the capital expenditure of the current fiscal year as the ministries are failing to increase capital expenditure as per the target.
In the review meeting of Finance Ministry on Monday, FM Pun directed the concerned government official to expedite their effort to meet the expenditure target in the remaining months of the fiscal year.
So far, some 40 percent of the capital expenditure has been spent while the government had targeted to spend at least 90 percent.
The finance minister also directed the ministries’ secretaries to come up with at least one project from ministries each with priority which are directly linked to the people lives in the next fiscal year.
On the same occasion, secretary of the National Planning Commission Janak Shah said that delay in the approval of priority projects from the concerned ministries has affected in its implementation and expenditure. nepalnews.com
