UML’s disciplinary body warns lawmakers against defying party decisions

The CPN-UML's central disciplinary commission has warned party's lawmakers not to go against the official decisions of the party.

After a meeting at the UML parliamentary party office in Singha Dubar Tuesday, the commission issued a four-point circular asking the lawmakers not to defy party decisions.

The commission said the act of signing a charter of demand, countering the party decision not to adopt single ethnicity-based federalism, had made the party serious.

The disciplinary body also asked the UML central committee and parliamentary party to stop the activities that are against the party decision. Similarly, the commission also instructed lawmakers to accept party's decisions.

“The commission will take disciplinary action against them if they break party's decision during the process of constitution drafting,” the circular read.

The circular of the UML disciplinary panel came at time when some UML lawmakers representing indigenous community have been threatening to go against party whip if the party did not accept ethnicity-based federalism. nepalnews.com
