The members of the expedition named "Lumbini-Sagarmatha Peace Mission 2012" reached the Mt. Everest, the highest peak of the world at 8.00 am Saturday morning.

Prakash hoisted Nepal´s national flag and the Maoist party´s flag at the peak of the Everest, RSS quoted former chairman of the Nepal Mountaineering Association Ang Chhiring Sherpa as saying.

The team had left capital on April 4 to scale Mt. Everest.

Following controversy after the government decided to fund Rs 20 million for the expedition, Dahal's team had refused to accept the money.

The team later claimed they raised Rs. 12.5 million donations from different organisations for the expedition that aims to create "momentum for peace and constitution". nepalnews.com
