Govt signs 7-pt deal with agitating Karnali group; commission on Karnali to be formed
The government has signed a seven-point agreement with Karnali Autonomous Province Struggle Committee on Saturday.
The government has agreed to set up a constitutional commission on Karnali, ensure 'Karnali special autonomous province' and delineate the province based on the geography and population of Karnali region.
Similarly, the government has also promised to invest 20 percent of the total budget of the government for Karnali from coming fiscal year.
Minister for Peace and Reconstruction Top Bahadur Rayamajhi and Karnali Autonomous Province Struggle Committee coordinator Naresh Bhandari singed in the agreement.
With the agreement, the committee has decided to withdraw its ongoing protest programmes. nepalnews.com
