IB Regulation could pave way for execution of mega project
The meeting of Investment Board (IB) under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai approved the regulations of the board on Saturday.
With the endorsement of the regulation, the Board expects the speedy execution of mega projects that are also called "national pride projects".
The approval of the regulation will also help create a climate of investment in the country, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Investment Board Radhesh Pant said.
Dipendra Bahadur Kshetry, Vice-Chairman of the National Planning Commission (NPC) also said that the regulations are a way forward to promote investments.
The IB board meeting decided to construct 14 various mega projects including five hydropower and seven infrastructures under the IB.
The projects include West Seti Hydropower Project, Upper Karnali, Upper Marshyangdi, Tamakoshi-III and the Arun-III, Kathmandu-Terai Fast Track, Metro Railway service in Kathmandu, Mid-Hill North-South Highway, garbage management plant. Nepalnews.com
