UML condemns govt decision to dole out cash to disqualified combatants

The CPN-UML has condemned the government's decision to provide Rs. 200,000 each to the disqualified combatants of the UCPN (Maoist).

Issuing a press release on Thursday, the UML chairman Jhala Nath Khanal said recent decision of the government to provide the amount to the ex-combatants who were declared disqualified by the then United Nations Mission in Nepal (UNMIN) during verification process was a hateful example of misuse of the state coffer.

The UML chair condemned Maoist- led government's attempt to distribute Rs. 600 million to some 3,000 disqualified combatants from the state coffers to fulfill political interest and also urged to withdraw the decision. nepalnews.com
