Congress ex-MPs protest party decision against CA revival
Members of the dissolved Constituent Assembly from the Nepali Congress have protested party central committee's decision to leave the CA 'dead for good.'
NC's decision to amend the constitution to pave the way for polls through a presidential order was against democratic principles, 78 former CA members of the party said in a statement on Thursday. The constitution needs to be amended by representatives of the people, they said.
The Nepali Congress on Wednesday formally decided to go for fresh CA election, despite objections from party Vice-president Ram Chandra Poudel and senior leader Sher Bahadur Deuba.
The former MPs, however, said they were not against going for fresh elections. nepalnews.com
