'Service with smile' is new mantra for Nepal Police
Police personnel are to provide services to the general public with a smile, states an official plan devised to improve the force's public image.
The year-long plan, which includes measures to make the police force's activities transparent and personnel more accountable, was made public at a press conference in the Capital on Thursday.
The plan includes steps to improve cooperation between police and the public, boost road safety and safeguard human rights, police officials said at the press meet.
As part of its efforts to make the force's administration more transparent, police employees can now call the Inspector General on the last Saturday of every month to put forward their grievances, said DIG Binod Singh, spokesperson for Nepal Police.
Nepal Police also informed that it has appointed DIG Keshav Adhikari as its new spokesperson. nepalnews.com
