Govt directs ministries to implement recommendation made by Justice Bam murder probe comm
The government has directed concerned ministries to implement the recommendations made by a probe committee investigating murder of Supreme Court justice Rana Bahadur Bum.
The government had on June 15 formed the committee headed by retired SC Justice Prem Prasad Sharma. Prem Raj Karki of the Office of Attorney General and Naresh Gurung of Nepal Police Headquarters are members of the probe committee.
Late Justice Bam was gunned down by motorcycle-borne unidentified gunmen while he was returning from a visit to a temple near UN Park in Thapathali on May 31. The culprits behind the murder are still to be identified and the motive behind the murder is still not known.
The cabinet meeting on Thursday evening also approved the promotion of Shyam Kumar Bhattarai and Rewati Raj Tripathi of the Judicial Service, public prosecutor´s group to post of gazetted first class.
Similarly, the government has approved the resignation of Pashupati Gautam, managing director of Agricultural Input Company Limited, and appointed Sashi Raj Tuladhar as an acting managing director.
The government also appointed Lieutenant General Nepal Bhusan Chand as acting Chief of Army Staff (CoAS) in absence of CoAS Gaurav Shumsher Rana, who is leaving for Australia on Monday. nepalnews.com
