UML, NC stand united against budget sans consensus
Top leaders from the Nepali Congress and UML have said they will not accept a budget that is brought without political consensus.
The leaders, who met at UML headquarters in Balkhu, have also decided to step up agitation if the government goes ahead to bring the budget unilaterally, said UML leader Raghuji Panta after the meeting. The two parties have agreed to hold talks with other parties in the opposition on Thursday, added Panta.
The meeting comes a day after members of the ruling coalition said they were optimistic that the government will be able to forge consensus among political parties on the budget issue. nepalnews.com
